Boiler
Piping System Repair
Client:
Jordan District Energy Co. (JDE)
For
this critical district cooling and heating infrastructure project, Synergy
provided comprehensive Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) during the
repair of the boiler piping network. Ensuring the integrity of these lines is
vital for JDE to maintain uninterrupted energy delivery to their commercial and
residential networks.
The
Technical Edge
We
implemented a rigorous NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) regimen to validate the
quality of the new weld repairs and piping joints:
*
Radiographic Testing (RT): Conducted volumetric inspections to ensure internal
weld soundness and total fusion, providing a "clear picture" of the
internal integrity.
*
Penetrant Testing (PT): Applied high-sensitivity dye penetrants to detect any
surface-breaking cracks or porosities that could lead to leaks under thermal
stress.
*
Visual Testing (VT): Performed direct visual assessments of all repaired
segments to ensure compliance with strict geometric and aesthetic engineering
specifications.
The
Result
Our
intervention ensured that all piping repairs met the high-performance standards
required for district energy systems. By certifying the welds through RT, PT,
and VT, Synergy provided Jordan District Energy Co. with the confidence that
their boiler systems are leak-proof and optimized for long-term,
high-efficiency operation.
