Construction of new soda tanks , (P33-A), (P33-B).
National Chlorine Industries
During
the expansion of the National Chlorine Company’s storage capacity, Synergy was
contracted to provide specialized quality control for the construction of the
new P33-A and P33-B Soda Tanks. Given the corrosive nature of the stored
chemical contents, ensuring 100% weld integrity was paramount to prevent
environmental hazards and structural leaks.
The
Technical Edge
Our
primary focus was the volumetric validation of the tank shells and floor joints
using advanced testing methods:
*
Radiographic Testing (RT): We performed comprehensive X-ray inspections of the
structural welds to ensure complete penetration and the absence of internal
defects such as slag inclusions or gas pockets.
*
Weld Quality Certification: Every critical seam was mapped and tested to verify
that the construction adhered strictly to the API 650 standards for atmospheric
storage tanks.
The
Result
By
identifying and correcting potential weld flaws early in the construction
phase, we ensured the long-term durability of the P33 units. Synergy’s RT
services provided the National Chlorine Company with the certified assurance
that their new assets are structurally sound and fully prepared for the safe
storage of chemical soda products.
